About Kim: In high school, her interior designer aunt would take her charcoal sketches and watercolors, frame and sell them in her shop. Kim studied different arts in college and graduated with a graphic design degree. She worked in the corporate world for over 30 years, then moved to the coast and had a few stints as gallery manager in Beaufort, SC and gallery assistant in Charleston, SC. Kim enjoys experimenting with materials and believes everyone can create beautiful work.

Medium & Philosophy: My primary medium is oil, chosen for its buttery blend-ability and forgiving nature. My representational work is deeply rooted in Tonalism. Unlike the bright vibrancy of Impressionism or the literal detail of Realism, Tonalism emphasizes color, line, and shape to prioritize visual harmony and spirituality
