Pottery Classes are on hold as of November 2021 due to a fire in the pottery studio – check back for details on 2022 class availability

You may have heard by now that our Pottery Studio caught fire on November 1st. No one was in the building at the time, and no one was injured. The preliminary cause was electrical. There was severe damage to a large part of the building interior. The other half suffered heat, smoke, and water damage. We are taking inventory and working with our insurance to see if our tools and equipment are salvageable or not. We lease the building from the City of King Mountain and will be working with them on the status of the building overall.

Our students were just 3 weeks into the Fall Classes and lost the work they had produced. The loss of the studio has been hard on our students, and especially for our teachers, Renee Matthews and Rhonda Withers.

That said, our classes are on hold for the time being. Several have asked about donations. We gladly welcome donations towards the rebuilding and restocking of our pottery studio. While insurance will cover a lot, we would like to make it better than it was. We will stay positive and look at this as a way to offer more to the community in the future. If you would like to help in any way, please contact us 704-739-5585 or email us.

This will all take some time to figure out, so please be patient with us as we find a way to move forward. Stay tuned for more details and fundraising efforts. As soon as we have more information we will share it. We appreciate your support!
