Southern Arts Society’s I Am Woman art exhibit and competition is on view now through June 7, 2024. Artists from around the region have entered works of art dedicated to the feminine or the essence of being a woman. Artists have created works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, sculpture, fiber and mixed media to interpret their view of I Am Woman.
 
Artwork in this exhibit will be judged with prizes awarded for first, second and third place prizes along with three merit awards. Judging our competition is Susan Carlisle Bell, professor of Art at Gardner-Webb University, retired.

The public is invited to attend the reception for I Am Woman to meet the artists. Presentation of awards to the artists will be at 7 pm. This is a free event and dress is casual. Photos of the exhibit and a list of the winners will be posted on their website and other social media. Artwork in the exhibit is available for sale.
 
In addition to gallery exhibits, Southern Arts Society represents over 75 regional artists offering fine arts and fine crafts in their Gift Shop where you will find a large array of jewelry, textiles, paintings, pottery, glass, metal, and paper for home décor and gifts. The Gift Shop will be open during the reception.
