The workshop: While Gene paints in both oil and acrylic paints, we will work in acrylic paint to speed up drying time needed between transparent paint applications. Acrylic paint will be provided for oil painters who do not have acrylic paints available for themselves.
What you will Learn: How to paint with glazes and make your landscape paintings glow like the Old Masters! Two techniques will be covered: 1) Monotone underpainting then adding transparent layers of colors; and 2) Glazing your current painting style to harmonize hues and change values. The purpose of the class is to let you experiment with a new technique and not finish a completed painting.
Class Outline: Each day will start with a demo and finish the day with quick review.
Day 1: Create a monotone underpainting and add layers of transparent color.
Day 2: Make a painting in your current style and add glazes to enhance the image.
